- Format your card: Insert your CFexpress or SD card into the camera and format it using the camera’s setup menu to ensure it’s compatible (exFAT for >64GB).
- Create the LUT Folder: Put the formatted card into your computer. Inside the
NIKONfolder on the card, create a new folder namedLUTS(all caps). - Add Your LUTs: Place your
.cubefiles into the newly createdLUTSfolder. Use LUTs with “Rec709” in the filename for proper display on the camera’s monitor. - Insert Card & Access Menu: Put the card back in the Nikon Z r. Go to the Setup Menu (wrench icon) > G (Video) settings.
- Enable View Assist & 3D LUT:
- Turn G14 (View Assist) to On.
- Go to G15 (3D LUT) and push right on the joystick.
- Import the LUT:
- Turn 3D LUT to On.
- Select Import CUBE File and push right.
- Choose the
.cubefile you want to import (you might see temporary._files on Mac that you need to ignore or delete on the computer first). - Select a destination slot and press OK to import.
